2008 NBA Playoffs - Day Five - April 23

Thursday April 24, 2008

Here at About.com, we'll be following each day of the 2008 NBA Playoffs - nothing too in-depth with these posts, but a bit of a recap that gives a couple of brief sentences or so, the final results, as well as links to the boxscore.

The Detroit Pistons Are Back!

Philadelphia 76ers 88, Detroit Pistons 105 @ Detroit / Box Score

All it took was a loss to wake up the beast known as the Pistons. Talk about balance and contributions all over the place. Detroit looked on point and showed how good they could be and why they still need to be taken seriously. Three starters had 16 points and Richard Hamilton led the team with 20 and seven assists. The series moves to Philly and the Pistons will need to play as they did last night to steal a game back and regain homecourt advantage. Series is tied 1-1.

Atlanta Hawks 77, Boston Celtics 96 @ Boston / Box Score

Mike Bibby called out Celtics "fans" after the Hawks' loss in Game One of this series and was greeted by boos last night in the second game of the series. But, after last night's second straight loss, Bibby may not have to endure such a greeting again as the Celtics look like they'll be breaking out the brooms in the ATL. Celtics lead series 2-0.

Denver Nuggets 107, Los Angeles Lakers 122 @ Los Angeles / Box Score

This game was all about Kobe Bryant. Nuff said. Lakers lead series 2-0.
