2008 NBA Playoffs - Day Eighteen - May 6
Here at About.com, we'll be following each day of the 2008 NBA Playoffs - nothing too in-depth with these posts, but a bit of a recap that gives a couple of brief sentences or so, the final results, as well as links to the boxscore.

Cleveland Cavaliers 72, Boston Celtics 76 @ Boston / Box Score
Talk about UGLY! When you think of LeBron James, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett, you have to think that these guys are superstars, right? There's no questioning their talent and what they've accomplished in their careers. If we were to use an analogy relative to beauty, these guys are like Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox, Natalie Portman, and Jessica Biel. While Garnett lived up to the comeliness of the aforementioned actresses, the other three played like they were the Golden Girls.
James shot 2-for-18 from the floor finishing with a dozen points. Pierce shot 2-for-14 from the field ending up with four points. Allen had a big goose egg in the points column, depsite playing 37 minutes. However, he only shot 0-4, which isn't close to how horrible LBJ and the Truth shot. But enough ugly... Garnett finished with 28 points on 13-for-22 shooting from the field and grabbed eight rebounds.
As a team, Cleveland shot 30.7% from the floor and that's obviously not going to get it done. I'm not even sure how to attribute the Cavs still being in the game to the end as they held Boston to only 76 points. Was their defense that good? Or was it just bad shooting night for Pierce and Allen? I'd guess the latter. So, in Game Two, the Cavs better step it up offensively because Pierce and Allen won't continue to be this bad. Luckily for the Cavs, neither will James.
