2008 NBA Playoffs - Day Thirty-Five - May 24
Here at About.com, we'll be following each day of the 2008 NBA Playoffs - nothing too in-depth with these posts, but a bit of a recap that gives a couple of brief sentences or so, the final results, as well as links to the boxscore.

Eastern Conference Final - Game Three
Boston Celtics 94, Detroit Pistons 80 @ Detroit / Box Score
Well, there goes the theory that the Celtics can't win on the road and MUST win every game at home in order to get to the NBA Finals. The Celtics went to Detroit and took back their homecourt advantage, but despite the victory being their first postseason W on their seventh try, let's not forget that the Celtics did own the best road record at 31-10 during the regular season.
All five Celtics starters scored in double digits led by Kevin Garnett's 22 points, and James Posey came off the bench to score a dozen. For the Pistons, Richard Hamilton showed up once again as he always does with 26 points, and Rodney Stuckey (17 points) came in and played well, spelling an obviously injured Chauncey Billups. Only shooting 1-for-6 for six points? Billups has to be hurt with a leg injury that he suffered in the Orlando Magic series. In any case, the Celtics are back in the game... if they were ever even out of it. Celtics lead series 2-1.
