2008 NBA Playoffs - Day Forty - May 29
Here at About.com, we'll be following each day of the 2008 NBA Playoffs - nothing too in-depth with these posts, but a bit of a recap that gives a couple of brief sentences or so, the final results, as well as links to the boxscore.

Western Conference Final - Game Five
San Antonio Spurs 92, Los Angeles Lakers 100 @ Los Angeles / Box Score
Once again, the Spurs are not able to successfully defend their NBA title as the Lakers are headed to the 2008 NBA Finals and they did it with some dramatic flair. They were down by as many as 17 points at one point of the game, but then Kobe Bryant worked his magic, especially in the fourth quarter when he scored 17 of his 39 points for the game. Pau Gasol chipped in with 12 points and 19 rebounds and must be happy with the difference in postseason play and results compared to his Memphis Grizzlies one round and done days. The Lakers have a week to rest before the NBA Finals begin on June 5th and Kobe is hoping to get that championship ring again, which will probably taste sweeter since it would be without Shaquille O'Neal who won his own ring sans Kobe with the Miami Heat. Lakers win series 4-1.
