April 2nd, 2007 was no gamble. That was the evening the Florida Gators won the NCAA Men’s Basketball championship for the second straight year. The prelude to the game was filled with tension as the American public embraced the impending reign of Ohio State center Greg Oden - the massively-talented future #1 overall pick in the NBA Draft who played the foil to the Gators on that night. In Florida they knew different. Ever since their celebrated corps of underclassmen made a pact a year prior to return and defend their trophy, they knew in their hearts that this moment was all but a fait accompli. Let the odds-makers set the line, let the talk radio gurus chatter, let the public prognosticate.
