The Pacers began play in 1967-68, the inaugural season of the American Basketball Association (ABA). Upon the folding of the ABA, the Pacers were one of four teams to be invited into the National Basketball Association (NBA), beginning in 1976. The Pacers have definitely been a team of eras, with the latest seeing the departure of star guard Reggie Miller.
