Tim Duncan

By Dennis Velasco, About.com

Duncan made an instant impact in the NBA averaging 21.1 points a game his rookie year. He teamed with David Robinson in the low-post helping the Spurs win the NBA championship in 1999 and again found both of themselves in the victory circle in 2003. Duncan is a two-time MVP and led the Spurs to a third title in 2005 as they beat the Detroit Pistons. Duncan is one of four players to win the NBA Finals MVP award three times (Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal and Magic Johnson are the other three to have accomplished this feat). Duncan is known for his sound all-around game and his low-key personality. He could retire today and still be considered among the top forwards/centers ever to play the game.
