After establishing a true obsession over five years on the Memphis Grizzlies message board (the best mesage board in the NBA), Chip went out on his own last summer and helped establish the 3 Shades of Blue blog with three friends. Always a lucky person in his heart, Chip sent an email to Chris Wallace, the Grizzlies GM, inviting him to come to a bar with some friends to talk about the team. The blog from that meeting helped propel Chip into a new world of blogging.
A native Memphian, Chip has religiously followed the Grizzlies since their arrival in 2001. Chip has followed the NBA since 1981 when, as a young college journalist at SMU, Chip scored passes to the expansion Dallas Mavericks team. A devout player of Statis Pro Basketball (the best NBA game in the world) and the NBA, Chip brings over 25 years of basketball fanship to the job.
Contrary to popular opinion, Chip has a real job, is married to a wonderful lady and has two great children to keep him busy, but he still has time to continue to discuss the Grizzlies and the NBA in general. This is Chip's first stab with the liberal media types but this old southern boy won't try to be influenced by the bright lights of Broadway.
