If there is one thing that Scott Sargent takes pride in, its the fact that hes a fan of Cleveland Sports. Those guys you see standing at Browns games despite a 2-10 record and sub-zero temperatures? Yep, thats him. Fortunately for Scott, hes been able to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers evolve before his eyes over the past four seasons... and he gets to write about it. He currently resides on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio approximately seven minutes from the Gateway district of Downtown which is home to both Jacobs Field (Indians) and Quicken Loans Arena (Cavaliers). During the daytime, Scott is a Portfolio Manager for one of the largest banks in the nation, managing money for people that have way more money than hell ever see in his lifetime. Thankfully, hes a great "multi-tasker" as well allowing for plenty of sports coverage. Read all about his love for Cleveland sports at Waiting For Next Year
Experience:
Growing up, Scott was able to witness the days of Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, and Larry "Wham with the right hand!" Nance. Unfortunately, he was also around to witness Jordan-Over-Ehlo as well. He has since taken his love for the game into the fantasy hoops arena, where he competes in several leagues on a yearly basis. The hobby has transpired into a few opportunities to share his knowledge as well as his opinions through several different websites including FantasyBasketball.com, SI.com, and SportsGrumblings.com. He is one of four lead writers at DroppingDimes.com, an up-and-coming fantasy basketball blog. His fantasy sports journalism tends to tread into the waters of fantasy football as well, but the hardwood is where his heart lies.
Education:
Scott possesses a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Ashland University, a Division II school approximately half-way between Cleveland and Columbus, OH. There, he not only gained vital knowledge that allows him to manage millions, but he also earned about 35 intramural championship t-shirts ranging from flag-football to soccer and of course, several from basketball where he was quite the recruiter as well.
From Scott Sargent:
If Cleveland is known for one thing, it has to be the passion that their fans have for their respective teams. Ive seen my beloved Browns leave town for several years, witnessed "The Drive," "The Fumble," "The Shot" and Jose Mesas blown World Series save all in a matter of a few years... all being events that I would wish on no one... outside of Pittsburgh. My favorite athletes of all-time include Cal Ripken Jr., whose baseball record will never be broken due to steroids or things of the like, but I cant help but leave my one love to those donning jerseys that say "Cleveland" across the front. Its a pleasure to be able to provide the fans of About.com with some science from Lakeside.
